ALL CLUB ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING RUNS, SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. DCFR IS LOOKING TO RESTORE RUNS AND WALKS IN PHASE 3.
Our number one priority is maintaining the safety and health of all our members. The DC Front Runners plans to resume runs and walks once DC enters Phase 3 successfully. We anticipate resuming activities in mid-July if DC enters Phases 2 and 3 as projected.
When we do resume activities, we will take several precautions, including:
- Holding runs only on Tuesdays and Thursdays (but no runs on Saturdays);
- Holding walks only on Saturdays;
- No bag check when we initially restart;
- Shortening announcements; and
- Providing multiple routes on well attended days.
Additionally, we will ask members to:
- Self screen for flu-like or COVID-19 symptoms before attending;
- Wear a mask before and after runs and walks, and when members are unable to be six feet apart;
- Follow social distance guidelines, including maintaining six feet between you and other members; and
- Depart gathering location once run or walk is complete.
Members who are in a risk category or have underlying health issues should carefully consider their decision to attend runs and walks.
By attending, you will assume risks and waive, release, and hold harmless DCFR from all claims relating to COVID-19 arising out of attending runs, walks, and other club activities.
We will continue to follow public health guidance as we explore safely expanding future DC Front Runner activities, including Saturday runs and offering bag check.
DCFR will have branded masks available for purchase.
As we get closer to resuming activities, we will share additional details. We appreciate your patience as we cautiously restore club activities. In the meantime, if you have questions or concerns, contact Mick Bullock at firstname.lastname@example.org.
VIRTUAL RUNS AND WALKS
We encourage all members to stay physically active during this period by walking, bicycling, or running individually or in small groups. Please share your photos and links to your run/walk details as comments on our Virtual Run/Walk posts on Facebook and by tagging @DCFrontRunners on Instagram.
NOTE: Review and adhere to the CDC guidelines as well as the DC, VA, and MD governments when you plan your activities, and stay safe.
