DCFR Activities Amid COVID-19
Updated Effective June 1, 2021
The DCFR’s number one priority is maintaining the health, safety, and well-being of its members and guests.
The DCFR Board revises its COVID-19 policy. We will continue to monitor the situation and notify the community through the DCFR website, social media platforms, and email of any changes to policy.
In our last policy update, we lifted the capacity restrictions and welcomed non-Members to events.
Advanced Registration No Long Required
We are pleased to announce that effective on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 registration/RSVPs are no longer required to attend runs and walks.
By attending, you will assume risks and waive, release, and hold harmless the DCFR from all claims relating to COVID-19 arising out of attending runs, walks, and other club activities. Attendees who are in a risk category or have underlying health issues should carefully consider their decision to attend runs, walks, and other events.
DCFRs is pleased to announce that it will have one more run during the week: Thursday nights! Beginning Thursday, June 3, 2021, Thursday Runs will resume and meet at Shevchenko Statue at 23rd/P Street NW at 7:00 pm.
Effective with the Tuesday, June 1, 2021 evening run, DCFRs will resume bag check for our weekly runs. We ask that individuals check their bags no later than 5 minutes before the scheduled start time (i.e.: for 7:00 pm runs, please be ready by 6:55 pm; for 10:00 am runs, please be ready by 9:55am; for 9:00am runs, please be ready by 8:55am).
In the event of inclement weather, attendees are encouraged to monitor DCFR’s social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) if bag check will not be possible. We apologize in advance if we are unable to provide bag check in inclement weather.
Wearing of Masks for Vaccinated Individuals
To align with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and DC Government’s modified guidance for use of face masks, individuals who are fully vaccinated are no longer required to wear face masks during official DCFR events.
As provided in DC Government’s guidelines, an individual is considered “fully vaccinated” 14 days after getting the last dose of a COVID-19 vaccine series (after the second dose of a two-dose series, or after one dose of a single-dose vaccine). Attendees who are not fully vaccinated should continue to observe DC Government’s face mask guidelines. We will not require proof of vaccination but we ask for attendees’ responsible and respectful cooperation with this revised policy.
If you have any questions or comments about DCFR’s COVID-19 posture, you may email Rene at email@example.com.
