Why did you join the DC Front Runners?

After a few months of living in the area, I stumbled upon the group on Facebook. I’ve never really ran with others, so it was a great way for me to be more social in new area as well as have some variations in my pace. But honestly it was inevitable for me to find DCFR because I absolutely love running and love being gay!

Why is the DC Front Runners important to you?

I really believe in building a strong community around things you enjoy! Most people really hate running, so it’s pretty nice to have a group of awesome people that actually enjoys it as well.

Do you have a favorite memory or story from the DC Front Runners?

Haven’t gotten to have one yet 🙁

What was your first race ever? And your favorite race?

My first race was a 10k in undergrad 4 years ago. It was a trail run called the “Gator Run” and it was through a wildlife refuge in Mississippi where alligators were commonly seen. My favorite race had to have been Baltimore Run Fest 2019. It was difficult because it was essentially all up hill, but it was my first marathon race and I love a good challenge!

What are your non-running hobbies?

I have a ton of plants and they are literally my everything haha! I enjoy setting up my hammock between two trees and reading when the weather is nice. Also, I love cooking and baking! I’m vegan, so it’s always something new and tasty being made.
